Meditation Strategies to Quiet Your Mind

For many beginning (and advanced) meditators the idea of “quieting the mind” can feel impossible. However, there are a variety of tools and strategies that can help you learn how to shift into a state of pure awareness or spaciousness. Learn how to quiet the internal chatter, reduce negative self-talk and develop mental calmness, serenity, and presence of mind. Sound too good to be true? Research and practice show that Quiet Mind styles of meditation can actually help you to do all of this and more.

This introductory class will teach you how and why Quiet Mind meditation strategies work. Learn how this form of practice changes the brain and can be an effective approach for managing stress, anxiety, and depression. In addition, this type of practice can enhance a variety of mental skills for us all.

Research has consistently demonstrated that experienced meditators have more relaxed and adaptive brains than non-meditators. The trick is learning how to maintain a practice that is a good match your needs and goals.

The Quiet Mind style of NeuroMeditation may be especially beneficial for those seeking to minimize internal self-talk, non-striving, creating distance from the Ego-mind, and cultivating a state of restful alertness. Because of the impact of this style of meditation on the brain, it may be particularly helpful for persons dealing with a variety of mental health concerns or chronic pain.
