Stephanie Best, NMI Trainer

Stephanie H. Best, Ph.D., HSP-P, is an expert practitioner of mindfulness and acceptance-based interventions including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.  She is an NMI Trainer in North Carolina.

The founder of a private practice and a contracting provider at a major psychiatric crisis unit in Raleigh, North Carolina, Dr. Best also serves as an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She has received advanced training in mindfulness from master clinicians such as Steven C. Hayes, Ph.D. and Kelly G. Wilson, Ph.D., and completed an 8-week intensive course in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at Duke Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Best has maintained a daily mindfulness meditation practice of her own for over a decade, sustained by her direct personal experience and deeply rooted belief in its empirically supported mental, emotional, and physical health benefits. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Duke University.
